River Hawks add Women’s Flag Football. SELINSGROVE, PA(WBRE/WYOU)— Susquehanna University Athletics will add Women's Flag Football to its varsity roster of sports starting in the spring of 2028. Next spring, the River Hawks will compete in Flag Football as a club sport, before transitioning to varsity the following season. Women's Flag Football will be the 24th varsity sport for Susquehanna athletics. The University is currently conducting a nationwide search for its head coach. Director of Athletics Sharief Hashim said in a statement, "We are excited to provide new opportunities for women to compete at Susquehanna while continuing to grow our athletics community." The River Hawks A.D. added, "This addition aligns with our commitment to expand access, support enrollment, and deliver an exceptional student-athlete experience.". At the moment, there are more than 40 institutions across the country supporting Women's Flag Football programs.
